In the past 26 years of practicing Integrative and Orthomolecular Medicine and psychotherapy, I have melded various approaches of nutritional and spiritual healing and have passed on this helpful information to many thousands of patients. I do not envision healing as an end unto itself but as a means to an end. I believe that the longer we can stay reasonably healthy and enjoy mental clarity, the more potential we have to discover a spiritual purpose for being alive and joyfully sharing this human experience with others.
While serving in medical directorships and consultancies to many clinics and hospitals in the Central New York area, I have instituted various programs of healing using nutritional therapies, psychotherapy and spirituality to support the recoveries of my patients from chronic medical and psychiatric disorders.
I have treated many kinds of medical disorders, but a significant portion of my work has focused on natural, medication-free treatments for ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), substance use disorders (drug, tobacco and alcohol addiction) and mood disorders (depression).
This work culminated in the publishing of two books, "ADD and ADHD: Complementary/Alternative Medicine (CAM) Solutions" (1999) and "End Your Addiction Now" (2002 - Warner Books).
My philosophy is to help patients to integrate the four modalities of Integrative Medicine, the structural, energetic, bio-molecular and psycho-emotional, especially as they apply to addictions, ADD & ADHD, depression and anxiety and other common mental disorders. I concentrate most intensively on the bio-molecular modality, providing patients with strategies to restore neuro-nutrition and to detoxify the brain. Massive scientific research suggests strongly that the root causes of alcohol, tobacco and drug addiction, ADD & ADHD, depression, anxiety, and other common mental disorders, are reversible brain toxicities and brain nutritional deficiencies. Rather than covering over symptoms with drugs, this science-based approach employs laboratory, diagnostic testing to identify and reverse the causative toxicities (such as mercury or food allergy) and the causative nutritional deficiencies (such as magnesium or certain amino acids).
