NIHA seeks to add a Medical Doctor to provide patient care within the patient-centered, integrative health care model. Our philosophy is to work with patients as partners and to become active participants in improving their physical, mental and emotional health. The holistic physician will address the health care needs of patients using traditional medicine and complementary therapies, and provide patient education on nutrition and lifestyle in order to achieve wellness.

NIHA has a full lab on site and offers traditional and specialty lab testing. The candidate will benefit from collaboration with experienced integrative medical and dental practitioners and innovative approaches to medical care that empower the patient to achieve optimal health.

Candidates must have an M.D. degree and be board certified/eligible. Experience in integrative medicine preferred. Salary is competitive.

Registered Nurse

NIHA has an Integrative Cancer Treatment Program that utilizes IPT (Insulin Potentiated Treatment) and other complementary modalities to support patients on their journey through cancer. We are seeking a part-time registered nurse to join our Integrative Cancer Team.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Starting IVs, accessing ports and drawing blood
- Administering chemotherapeutics and other medications
- Monitoring patients for medication side effects of therapy & intervening
- Understanding of chemotherapeutic medications & IPT principles
- Providing psychosocial support to patients and their families

Degree: AA in Nursing or BSN
License: RN – Licensed in Washington DC
BLS/CPR Up to date; ACLS preferred

- At least 2 years in clinical practice with experience in chemotherapy, oncology, ICU or ER
- Must be able to comfortably access ports & manage IV infusions

- We are treating patients in an outpatient setting. If complications arise during treatment, the RN must be able to rapidly act and appropriately intervene. This includes possibly initiating CPR, hypoglycemia recovery, administering medications to reverse drug reactions and rapidly hydrating patients. This requires a high level of skill and sound clinical reasoning.
- We will teach IPT principles once hired.

Intake Coordinator

Job Overview
The Intake Coordinator provides the first clinical interaction with NIHA patients. In that capacity, the Intake Coordinator also serves as a resource to patients about NIHA’s integrated medical and dental programs. Finally, the Intake Coordinator is expected to fulfill administrative and clinical duties as part of a dynamic team in an integrative health clinic.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Patient Care/Administrative
• Cordially and professionally greets every patient and introduces themselves before delivering care.
• Explains to the patient the Intake Coordinator’s role and what to expect during this interaction.
• Takes patient’s vital signs and opens the electronic health record to document results, scans & indexes any consent forms, health questionnaires and other relevant materials into the chart.
• Initiates necessary consent forms for current visit.
• If necessary paperwork has not been completed, helps patient to do so.
• Provides a NIHA overview as patient seems receptive and answers any questions.
• Directs patient to the reception area and assures the electronic health record has been sent to appropriate practitioner.
• Notifies practitioner or Patient Coordinator that the patient is ready.
• Prepares and supports patients for foot baths, infra-red sauna and steam cabinet treatments.
• Provides administrative support by answering overflow calls and making appointments as necessary.
• Other related duties as assigned.
• Support selected practitioners.

• Support the Rejuvenation and Detoxification (R&D) practitioner with Aqua-Chi, Infared Sauna, and Oxygen Steam Cabinet as necessary.
• Assist with laundry.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
• Knowledgeable about integrated medicine, NIHA’s programs and practitioners.
• Computer literacy; experienced with electronic health records or NextGen software preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and comfortable in a clinical setting.
• Experience in pediatrics is preferred- will train the right candidate.

Credentials and Experience
• High school graduate
• Medical Assistant Preferred
• Patient care experience preferred

Dental Assistant

NIHA is seeking an enthusiastic, full time or part time dental assistant to join our Holistic Family Dentistry team within an integrated healthcare center. Successful applicant must have 3 to 5 years of experience and good communication skills. Some Saturday, early morning and evening hours required. Experience and knowledge of dental computer software is essential.  Dental Assistant registration in the District of Columbia is a must.

Massage Therapist

Our leading holistic medical/dental office is seeking an experienced Massage Therapist. Part-time with some Saturdays. Knowledge and experience of Integrative Medicine is beneficial. Candidates must have at least a year’s experience working in a clinical environment. DC license required as well as membership with either AMTA, NCTMB, or another affiliate.
