Inspiration
My father was diagnosed with end-stage abdominal mesothelioma and given 3 months to live. This news was shocking as my father was an otherwise healthy, vibrant man in his mid-fifties. I spoke with his oncologists looking for that glimmer of hope. The response, however, was a unanimous, “I’m sorry, nothing else can be done.” After further research, I came upon a nutrition and lifestyle modification plan that I believed would act as the perfect complement to an experimental protocol I found for him at NIH. The result was that after nine years, my father was the only living subject left in this large study group and his quality of life was superb. The integrative, holistic approach I pursued gave us ten more quality years with my father and started me on my journey as an advocate of integrative medicine as an effective approach to healthcare.
