Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a centuries old method of encouraging the body to  promote natural healing and improve function.

In Chinese Medicine, specific acupuncture points correspond to energy channels, or meridians, which flow through the body.  Blockages in the energy channels, it is believed, are responsible for illness and disease.

Acupuncture therapy is the most commonly used alternative treatment, now considered more mainstream, and many find it helpful for pain and other chronic or acute health conditions.

Acupuncture for Pain, Prevention, Disease, and Overall Well Being

Acupuncture is recognized by the National Institute of Health (NIH) in treatment for several diseases and recommended for the management of pain of all varieties. Beyond the scope of the NIH, acupuncture has been observed to improve the conditions of people suffering from many illnesses including but not limited to: urogenital, digestive, autoimmune, recalcitrant and chronic diseases, mental and emotional disturbance, spiritual issues as well as many, many more.

Through questioning, examination of the tongue pulse and complexion, palpation and energetic observation the practitioner locates the fundamental obstacles to health and wellbeing and seeks to open the pathways. With the use of hair-thin filliform needles, the practitioner seeks to target specific pathways in the body in order to pinpoint the root of the problem. Healing is encouraged by the insertion of very fine needles and applying heat or stimulation to acupuncture points.

The number of treatments needed depends on the person and the condition. An acute pain condition may require only a few visits but  a complex chronic condition may need several months of treatment.

Acupuncture therapy is known to improve energy flow, stimulate the body's natural healing abilities, and promote physical and mental well-being.
